Horses are powerful animals, their fencing needs to be highly visible and designed in a way that minimises injuries in the case of an accident. Horses can also be spirited and unpredictable, so a robust solution is essential when setting up a fenced pasture.
A recent case study from our customer, Melanie Richardson of KJR Contracting really drives home the importance of choosing animal fencing products wisely.
Melanie recently had a horse go through a fence, which was a traumatic situation for all involved. The incident left the horse with a severe leg injury, cutting to the bone and exposing tendons.
“We went to a few places and did our research on equine fencing,” Melanie explains, “but as soon as you put the word ‘horse’ into the equation the price seems to hike up considerably.”
